As a
Senior Children's Residential Support Worker , you'll be a key role model within the home, helping to create a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment where children and young people can thrive. You will lead shifts, support and mentor colleagues, and work closely with young people to promote independence, confidence, and positive outcomes. Key Responsibilities
Lead shifts and support the day-to-day running of the home. Act as a positive role model for children, young people, and colleagues. Support young people with education, appointments, daily routines, and independent living skills. Build positive and trusting relationships that promote emotional wellbeing. Encourage positive behaviours and provide consistent support through challenges. Safeguard children and young people, ensuring their welfare is always the highest priority. Complete care plans, risk assessments, reports, and daily records to a high standard. Work collaboratively with social workers, education professionals, therapists, and families. Coach, mentor, and support the development of junior staff members. Support the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager in the effective operation of the home. What We're Looking For
Essential
? Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare, Children & Young People's Workforce, or equivalent ? Previous experience working within a children's residential setting ? Experience leading shifts and supporting colleagues ? Strong understanding of safeguarding and child-centred practice ? Excellent communication and relationship-building skills ? A resilient, adaptable, and positive approach Desirable
? Level 4 or Level 5 qualification in Health & Social Care ? Experience supporting children with autism, emotional and behavioural difficulties, or mental health needs ? Knowledge of Children's Home Regulations and Quality Standards ? Full UK Driving Licence More Than a Job
