We are a thriving and forward thinking Care Agency who, over the last 6 years have gone from strength to strength. With 4 branches across the country and plans to expand further, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced Healthcare Trainer to join our team in Canterbury, Kent.

You will be responsible for delivering high-quality training programs that equip learners with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to work effectively in the health and social care sector.

Role:

You will be a passionate and enthusiastic Trainer that delivers mandatory Health and Social Care modules for new and existing agency care staff. You will also deliver training externally to various care services across the Kent area. As a Trainer for SaferHandCare, you will be working in a supportive and flourishing team who prides itself on quality and integrity. You will be expected to:

  • Design, deliver, and evaluate training sessions, workshops, and courses in health and social care topics, including safeguarding, manual handling, infection control, and care planning.
  • Complete relevant marking, follow-up administration and compiling training paperwork.
  • Build on our current training modules and help nurture and form long term relationships with new and existing staff and will be responsible for their continuing professional development and training.
  • Adapt your communication and training style depending on the trainees, and naturally build rapport with new people.
  • Maintain accurate records of learner progress, attendance, and achievements.
  • Stay up to date with developments in health and social care, including regulatory changes and best practices.
  • Liaise with employers and other stakeholders to identify training needs and tailor programs accordingly.
  • Work collaboratively with wider training team in other branches.

Requirements:

As a Health and Social Care Trainer you will have at least 2 years experience, and more specifically would ideally have come from a care/support worker background that has since progressed into training and tutoring. You will be motivated, driven and thrive in a learner/trainer environment.

You will be expected to have:

  • Relevant qualifications in health and social care, such as an NVQ Level 3 or above (or equivalent).
  • Recognized training or teaching qualification, e.g., Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET), PTLLS, or equivalent.
  • Proven experience working in the health and social care sector, with a strong understanding of care standards and legislation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire learners.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to assess learner performance and provide constructive feedback.
  • Proficiency in using digital learning platforms and other training tools.
  • A strong background in the care sector.
  • Qualifications in Basic Food Hygiene; Health & Safety; COSHH; Mental Capacity/DOLs; Dementia; Moving and Handling (Theory & Practical), First Aid/BLS; Medication.

Further Information:

As well as a strong basic salary of up to 30k per annum, depending on experience, you will also expect to receive:
