We're working with one of the largest UK payroll providers, a leading firm of Accountants and Business Advisers operating across the UK, Ireland and the Nordics. They are expanding and require talented Accounts Senior individuals.
Within this Accounts Senior role, you will be joining an outgoing and sociable team and it offers a strong mix of client engagement, technical accounting work, and the opportunity to support junior colleagues, making it ideal for someone looking to grow within a supportive and professional environment.
Day to day you will be expected to:
- Prepare year-end accounts and tax computations for a portfolio of clients, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards (FRS 105, FRS 102, etc.).
- Review work prepared by junior team members and provide constructive feedback and support.
- Assist in managing deadlines, budgets, and client expectations.
- Act as a key point of contact for client queries, offering advice and value-added insights.
- Identify potential risks, suggest improvements, and support internal workflow planning.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure technical work (e.g. deferred tax, capital gains, benefit in kind calculations) is delivered to a high standard.
To be considered for the Accounts Senior position, you will have hands-on experience working within an accountancy practice, as well as strong technical accounting knowledge and exposure to UK compliance and tax regulations.
In addition to this you will also be expected to be/have:
- Actively studying or qualified in ACCA / ACA / CA / AAT, or qualified by experience.
- Confident communicator with the ability to build rapport with clients and internal teams.
- Capable of working on multiple assignments and meeting key deadlines.
- Comfortable using modern accounting systems and cloud platforms (e.g. Xero, DEXT).
- Able to work from the office location as required.
- Experience with mid-level tax calculations (e.g., CT61, deferred tax, BIK, PSA).
- Familiarity with SME and owner-managed business environments.
- An interest in mentoring or coaching junior staff.
