Safe Haven Talent is recruiting on behalf of a well-established, London-based children’s home seeking a passionate and experienced Registered Manager to lead their residential service for young people aged 11–17. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced manager who is committed to improving the lives of children and young people with complex needs and challenging behaviours. The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of the home’s operations — ensuring it provides a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment where every child can thrive.

You will be the Responsible Individual under Ofsted regulations, accountable for quality of care, compliance, and outcomes. This is a role for a leader who can inspire teams, maintain high standards, and ensure the home remains compliant, compassionate, and child-centred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage all day-to-day operations within the home, ensuring full compliance with the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
  • Deliver outstanding care, welfare, and safeguarding practices in line with Ofsted and organisational expectations.
  • Provide strong leadership, supervision, and professional development to the staff team.
  • Ensure care and placement plans meet the emotional, educational, and developmental needs of each young person.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with local authorities, social workers, schools, and healthcare professionals.
  • Oversee recruitment, training, and team performance, promoting a culture of accountability and excellence.
  • Ensure the home is inspection-ready at all times, aiming for “Good” or “Outstanding” Ofsted ratings.
  • Manage budgets, rotas, and resources efficiently to deliver the highest standards of care.

If you are a leader who thrives on making a genuine difference in the lives of young people, this role offers both challenge and reward in equal measure.

Requirements:

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services (or working towards).
  • Minimum 2–3 years of management experience within a children’s residential home.
  • Proven ability to manage and motivate a care team to achieve positive outcomes for young people.
  • In-depth knowledge of safeguarding, Children’s Act 1989, and Ofsted inspection frameworks.
  • Experience working with young people who display challenging behaviours.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage budgets, rotas, and compliance documentation effectively.
  • Proven track record of achieving “Good” or “Outstanding” Ofsted inspection outcomes.
  • Experience managing multiple placements and working with diverse agencies.
  • Strong commitment to continuous professional development.

Compliance Requirements:

As part of the recruitment process, candidates will be expected to complete an online assessment as part of their application. Sign and return a Safeguarding Declaration and Consent Form confirming they have no outstanding safeguarding cases with Ofsted or LADO. This document will be emailed to shortlisted candidates and must be completed, signed, and returned before progressing to the interview stage. Fully compliant candidates who complete the assessment and declaration early will be prioritised for client review and fast-tracked through the recruitment process.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary up to £65,200, including bonuses.
  • Full occupancy bonus of up to £300 per month.
  • Performance bonuses – £3,000 for “Outstanding” Ofsted ratings and £1,500 for “Good”.
  • 32 days annual leave (including bank holidays), increasing with service.
  • Monthly clinical and professional supervisions and access to therapeutic support.
  • Company phone provided for operational use.
  • Employee discount scheme with over 740 retailers.
  • Genuine opportunities for career growth and leadership development.

If you share our vision of empowering young people to achieve their full potential, we’d love to hear from you.
