Job Summary
Responsible for the direction of all Supply Chain operations from our UK operations in Hereford, including but not limited to purchasing of medical devices. Examine and manage existing procedures or opportunities for streamlining activities and facilities to meet product distribution needs in support of our International customers. The job holder will promote and adhere to the company values of quality and compliance with current legislation.
Essential Job Functions
- Recruit, train and manage a team of supply chain professionals.
- Negotiate terms, Service Level Agreements, contracts, agreements and prices with suppliers, monitoring and assessing their performance and maintaining cost-effective practices.
- Implement logistic strategies and supply chain planning, tracking goods from the origination point to the warehouse.
- Identify and minimise risk by predicting the demand for products and adopting new technology with no interruption to the process.
- Manage inventory, tracking stock levels, orders, operations, and performance through ERP software to ensure targets for packing, kitting and distribution are met.
- Develop KPIs, safety guidelines, teach and enforce protocols, and report in line with the company's Goals and Objectives for Supply Chain.
- Prepare forecasts and reports for the company's senior management team.
- Be responsible for the supply chain process in the Quality System Management Control.
- Partner with the Quality team to ensure compliance, best practices and integration across the QMS.
- Input sourcing and supply chain considerations into new product development to ensure smooth transition to market.
- Ensure all NPD for SMT are in compliance with EN ISO 13485, EU Regulation on Medical Devices 2017/745, UK MDR 2002.
- Input sourcing and supply chain considerations into potential new business opportunities.
- Work with Finance to coordinate Purchasing.
- Ensure all delivery evaluations are performed in full compliance with ISO13485 and other relevant standards.
- Conduct annual reporting and supplier evaluations through management review.
- Responsible for intercompany buying and selling for all web orders.
- Coordinate marketing/commercial requirements for exhibitions.
- Responsible for creating and maintaining SKU within ERP.
- Create product labels for all critical suppliers.
- Ensure sterile product compliance in line with ISO 11137.
- Ensure the safety of the supply chain during procurement of medicinal products in compliance with MHRA GDP and Home Office requirements.
Qualifications
- Degree/Diploma in Supply Chain Management or relevant purchasing/business degree.
- Previous experience and success working within a Supply Chain role.
- Sound commercial acumen and effective negotiation skills.
- An effective communicator with exceptional customer service and influencing skills.
- Proven analytical skills and proficient in completing supplier agreements.
- Technical knowledge and understanding of the medical industry - preferable.
- Qualification in Leadership & Management.
- Experience of Sage 200 software - preferable.
- Experience in stock and warehouse management.
- Experience in dealing with overseas suppliers.
- Export Documentation training.
- UK Driving License.
