How you will make a difference:
As a Payroll Coordinator you\'ll manage the smooth running, compliant payroll processing and timely worker payments across mainly the UK but also at times other EMEA locations. You\'ll work closely with internal teams and external providers to resolve queries, support invoicing, and help deliver an exceptional service to our clients.

  • Own the end-to-end payroll process for Safeguard Global workers post-onboarding, ensuring accuracy and compliance every step of the way
  • Stay up to date on payroll policies and local government regulations to keep payroll processing smooth and compliant
  • Investigate and resolve any payroll discrepancies - you\'re the expert who keeps everything in balance
  • Review and approve payroll reports based on client input and internal systems
  • Keep payroll schedules, KPIs, and master data reporting accurate and up to date
  • Guarantee timely and accurate payroll payments for all workers
  • Collaborate with clients to ensure in-country compliance and deliver expert guidance throughout the worker lifecycle
  • Keep employee records accurate and up to date ahead of payroll cycles
  • Serve as the main point of contact for worker payroll-related queries - providing clear and timely support
  • Oversee the payroll funding and billing process, including charging sheets and sales invoice generation
  • Manage and securely store all employment documentation in line with in-country compliance standards
  • Handle employment contract changes, including salary updates and new benefits, post-onboarding
  • Respond quickly and professionally to queries from workers, internal teams, clients, and in-country partners
  • Lead compliant offboarding processes for all workers, whether fixed-term or indefinite, voluntary or involuntary
  • Ensure background checks are completed before first payroll, or follow up post-implementation as needed

  • Proven experience in managing end-to-end payroll processes
  • Knowledge of payroll legislation, tax regulations, and statutory compliance requirements.
  • Excellent time management; able to meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • High attention to detail with excellent organisational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (e.g., using formulas, pivot tables, data validation, and lookups for payroll analysis)
  • Proactive and self-directed, with a strong sense of initiative and ownership
  • Ability to manage sensitive employee data with confidentiality
  • Strong communication skills - able to work effectively with internal teams and external partners when required
