Safeguard Armour, a global provider of armor and tactical equipment, is seeking an organised and systems thinking Business Operations Lead to join our growing company. In this high-impact role, you will sit at the centre of the business—driving operational rhythm, performance management, and cross-functional delivery to support our ambitious expansion plans across 30+ countries.

Our Goal: To increase revenue in our armor and equipment division from £5 million to £20 million within the next 3 years. We’re looking for someone who is energised by this challenge, who understands systems and processes, and can help translate the overarching vision into operational execution.

This is an opportunity to:

  • Lead the Operating System
Own the weekly/monthly cadence that keeps the business aligned—priorities, metrics, actions, and follow-through. You’ll help set the standard for how we execute and scale.
  • Drive Tangible Impact
From tender performance to supply chain reliability to product launch readiness, you’ll have full visibility of end to end process, goals, KPIs and outcomes.
  • Get Exposure and Fast Tracked
This is a high-visibility role with direct influence on leadership decisions. Your work will be measurable and recognised through outcomes, with exposure to overall design of a small growing company.

What You’ll Do:

  • Run Business Performance & Cadence
Build and own the operating rhythm: weekly leadership reviews, KPI dashboards, action tracking, and decision logs. Ensure priorities are clear across Sales, Product, Supply Chain, and Operations—and that teams deliver against them.
  • Define KPIs, Targets, and Accountability
Lead KPI design across functions (commercial, operational, delivery, quality, forecast accuracy, inventory turns, tender conversion, on-time delivery). Translate company goals into team-level targets and ensure owners, timelines, and success metrics are in place.
  • Drive Cross-Functional Execution (End-to-End)
Coordinate delivery of strategic initiatives: product launches (helmets, plates, shields, clothing line), tender readiness, new market rollouts, and internal capability building. Proactively identify risks and bottlenecks; escalate early and drive resolution.
  • Operational Excellence & Process Improvement
Diagnose where time, money, or quality is being lost across workflows (tender-to-order, order-to-cash, procurement-to-delivery, NPI). Design and implement improved SOPs that scale, with clear handoffs and compliance built in.
  • Systems & Data (Automations, Software Dev & Deployment)
Help drive adoption and design of new workflows, software, and processes: process mapping, data quality, training coordination, UAT, and reporting outputs. Improve decision-making through clean dashboards and reliable data.
  • Tender Ops Enablement (Execution + Win-Rate Improvement)
Strengthen the tender machine: timelines, inputs, governance, win/loss insights, and cross-team coordination. Ensure proposals are delivered on time, compliant, and commercially sharp across police, special forces, navy, and military opportunities.
  • Supply Chain & Delivery Reliability
Partner with Supply Chain to improve supplier performance, lead times, cost control, and risk mitigation. Support inventory strategy, forecasting discipline, and service-level performance.
  • Leadership Support & Strategic Projects
Act as a force-multiplier for senior leadership—bringing structure, visibility, and momentum to the highest-priority business initiatives.

Who We’re Looking For:

  • A highly organised, commercially aware operator with a track record of driving execution across multiple teams.
  • A confident, proactive leader who creates clarity, drives accountability, and enjoys solving hard operational problems.
  • Strong communicator who can influence across functions, from senior leaders to hands-on teams.
  • Data-driven and outcome-focused: you track what matters, and simplify complexity.
  • Adaptable, resilient, and comfortable in a demanding, high-growth environment.
  • Systems and process thinking.
