We are entering an important stage in our growth and are looking for an experienced business development professional to help us secure new clients, develop existing accounts and strengthen our position in the market.

This is a new-business role offering considerable responsibility and autonomy. You will identify commercial opportunities, build and manage a qualified pipeline, and develop prospects through to contract award. A key part of the role will be identifying relevant tenders, procurement frameworks and contract opportunities across public & private sectors. You will assess which opportunities are commercially viable and work closely with our bid and operational teams to prepare strong, competitive submissions. You will also review our existing relationships to identify opportunities for additional services. As we provide several complementary services through one organisation, there is significant potential to develop accounts beyond a client's initial requirement. This role would suit someone who is confident in creating opportunities rather than relying on an established pipeline. You will be supported by an experienced team, but you will be expected to take ownership of your activity, priorities and results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities across the public & private sectors
  • Research relevant tenders, procurement frameworks and forthcoming proposals
  • Qualify opportunities based on strategic fit, commercial value and likelihood of success
  • Work with our bid team to prepare and submit high-quality proposals
  • Build and manage a pipeline from initial contact through to signed contract
  • Develop strong relationships with prospective clients and key decision-makers
  • Identify cross-selling opportunities within our existing client base
  • Prepare for and attend client meetings, presentations and pitches
  • Represent SAFECROWDS GROUP at relevant industry events
  • Work closely with operational teams to ensure proposals are practical and deliverable
  • Monitor regulatory, procurement and market development that may create new opportunities
  • Maintain accurate pipeline reports, forecasts and performance information

About You:

We are looking for someone with a proven record of winning new business. You should be able to demonstrate opportunities that you have personally identified, developed and converted. Experience in security, facilities management, events, infrastructure or public-sector sales would be advantageous. We will also consider candidates from other sectors who have a strong new-business background and the ability to understand a technical service offering quickly.

You will be:

  • Commercially aware and focused on measurable results
  • Confident approaching new organisations and senior decision-makers
  • Comfortable working independently and setting your own priorities
  • Persistent and professional throughout long or complex sales cycles
  • Able to assess opportunities objectively and focus on those with the strongest potential
  • A credible communicator with stakeholders at both operational and executive levels
  • Organised and disciplined in managing a varied pipeline
  • Able to work effectively with bid, commercial and operational teams

What we offer:

  • £35,000 annual base salary increasing to £40,000 after successful probation.
  • Uncapped commission
  • Company pension
  • Gym membership
  • Monthly team meals
  • Direct access to the company's leadership team
  • The opportunity to influence our commercial strategy as the business grows
  • Genuine scope to progress into a sales leadership position

Career progression:

This is an important appointment for SAFECROWDS GROUP. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to help establish and develop our business development function, with the potential to build and lead a team as the company continues to grow. We are looking for someone who will take ownership of this opportunity, deliver results and play a meaningful role in the next stage of our development.
