Fire Engineer in Manchester

We are currently hiring for a fire engineering consultant.

We are a commercially minded fire engineering consultancy who pride ourselves on providing practical solutions to our client’s problems.

SAFE was founded in 2026 and you would be part of a small, fast-growing team. This means you will be exposed to responsibility and opportunities early in your career you might not get at larger businesses, including managing your own projects, dealing directly with clients and the commercial side of the business.

This role is hybrid working with at least two days a week in our central Manchester office.We operate flexible working with core hours of 10am to 4pm.

You would be working on a wide variety of projects and our current work includes:

• Large logistics buildings
• New buildings for well known hotel brands.
• Tall and Very Tall buildings including Higher Risk Buildings
• New school and prison buildings
• Assisting solicitors with litigation.

We aim to be a great place to work and will provide the following salary and benefits:

• 4-day, 32 hour, working week as standard for all staff with no reduction in pay.
• Salary starting at £44,000 per annum.
• Hybrid Working as standard.
• Matched pension contribution of up to 8%
• 29 holiday days per year.
• Uncapped annual bonus.
• Professional Recognition bonuses including £3,000 on achieving registration as Chartered Engineer.

To be considered for this role you should have the following:

1. Master’s degree in one of the following subjects or similar:
2. Fire Engineering
3. Mechanical, Aerospace or Structural/Civil Engineering
4. Physics
5. 2+ years’ experience working in a fire engineering or multidisciplinary consultancy
6. Experience with common UK codes and standards including the ADB, BS9991, BS9999 and BS7974
7. Excellent written and spoken English
8. You must have the right to work in the UK
