We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Repairs Planner to join our Maintenance Team within our social housing portfolio. This role is key to ensuring properties remain safe, compliant, and well-maintained by effectively coordinating repairs, scheduling resources, and supporting our in-house team and contractors. You will play a vital role in minimising void times, maintaining property standards, and delivering a responsive service to residents and local authority partners. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong organisational, planning, and leadership skills to make a direct impact in a growing housing business.
Duties
- Plan and manage day-to-day and scheduled repairs across our property portfolio to ensure timely completion and minimal disruption to residents.
- Coordinate works between in-house operatives, engineers, and external subcontractors.
- Review and triage incoming repair reports via our system (e.g. FixFlo), diagnosing issues where possible and assigning jobs appropriately.
- Schedule works based on urgency, compliance requirements, and resource availability.
- Manage and track maintenance costs, including labour and subcontractor spend.
- Monitor job progress, update schedules, and provide regular updates to internal teams.
- Allocate and track compliance works, including Gas Safety Certificates, EICRs, EPCs, and other statutory requirements.
- Support stock control and ordering of materials to ensure jobs are completed without delay.
- Supervise operatives on larger or complex repair projects, ensuring quality and safety standards are met.
- Maintain clear records of works, costs, and completion status using internal systems.
Skills
- Proven experience in a planning, scheduling, or coordination role within maintenance, housing, or property management.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple jobs and priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-changing environment.
- Good understanding of property maintenance, including general repairs, compliance, and housing standards.
- Experience working with contractors and in-house maintenance teams.
- Ability to assess and triage repair issues from tenant reports or job descriptions.
- Confident in tracking costs and managing budgets related to repairs and maintenance.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Previous supervisory or team coordination experience is desirable.
