Safe Haven Sussex C.I.C. is a not-for-profit community interest company providing accommodation, care, and support for single adults aged 18 and over who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. The organisation operates across Brighton and Hove and surrounding areas, focusing on vulnerable adults with diverse and sometimes complex needs. Skilled staff support residents who may be misusing drugs or alcohol, have recent experience of the criminal justice system, or require help to engage with mental health services. Safe Haven Sussex C.I.C. aims to provide safe, stable accommodation and holistic support that enables residents to progress toward fully independent living and positively contribute to their communities.

This role is specific to the Seagull Project which is a commissioned service within Safe Haven Sussex providing support to 36 individuals with Complex Needs.

The Seagull Project Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Brighton, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of supported accommodation services. This includes managing referrals, allocations, and move-ins, coordinating support plans, and ensuring that residents receive consistent, person-centered support. The role involves supervising and supporting staff, managing rotas, overseeing casework, and promoting best practice in safeguarding, risk assessment, and health and safety. The Seagull Project Manager will monitor service performance, maintain accurate records, and produce reports for internal and external stakeholders. The role also requires building strong relationships with local authorities, healthcare providers, criminal justice partners, and community organisations to enhance outcomes for residents and support successful move-on pathways.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated project management skills, including experience planning, coordinating, and delivering accommodation or support services.
  • Experience managing the flow of tasks, resources, and information to meet deadlines and service targets.
  • Ability to oversee and improve operational processes such as placements, move-ins, and move-ons, ensuring timely and effective service delivery.
  • Skills in monitoring service quality, conducting inspections or checks of properties and documentation, and implementing improvements.
  • Proven experience working with vulnerable adults, ideally in homelessness, supported accommodation, or related social care settings.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding, risk management, and relevant legislation or local policies related to housing and support.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and de-escalation skills, with the ability to build trust and maintain professional boundaries.
  • Experience line-managing or supervising staff, including providing guidance, support, and performance feedback.
  • Competence in report writing, record keeping, and using basic IT tools for case management and communication.
  • Relevant qualification in social care, housing, criminal justice, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to work flexibly on-site, respond to changing priorities.
