We are seeking a proactive and organised Policy and Research Officer to support the delivery of Home for Good and Safe Families’ advocacy work across the UK. Working closely with the Policy and Public Affairs Lead and Head of Advocacy, you will help strengthen our evidence base, coordinate key networks, and ensure our work is informed by robust evidence, amplifies the voices of children and families, and contributes to systemic change.
The role combines research, project coordination and stakeholder engagement. You will undertake research across all four nations of the UK, contribute to parliamentary and policy engagement, support the Supported Lodgings National Network, and work closely with colleagues across the Communications Team to deliver joined-up and impactful advocacy.
You would work as part of the National team and should have reasonable access to at least one of Westminster or a devolved legislature (Holyrood, Senedd Cymru or Stormont) to enable regular in-person engagement.
This is a permanent contract. Subject to continued partnership funding.
Full time (37 hours 30 minutes)
Flexible but based at one of our regional offices: (Birmingham, Cardiff, Darlington, Dudley, Edinburgh, Leicester, Lincoln, London, Newcastle, Nottingham, Skelmersdale, Southampton, Swindon)
£26,227.50 – £29,128.40 ( +£3,000 London weighting). Appointments made above the starting salary will be dependent on skills and experience in line with evidencing the relevant competencies for the role.
36 days annual leave allowance (inclusive of bank holidays and Christmas closure), option to purchase additional leave and extra days added to your allowance with length of service. Pro-rated for part time staff.
