As part of our 40‑plus strong Development Management team, you’ll play a key role in protecting the district’s exceptional natural and built environment. Working in the beautiful market town of Cirencester, you’ll help safeguard the Cotswolds’ character and make a visible, lasting impact.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a varied caseload of planning enforcement cases.
- Investigate complex breaches of planning control.
- Lead on formal enforcement action, including appeals and prosecutions.
- Provide expert advice to colleagues, members, businesses and the public.
- Support and mentor other Planning Enforcement Officers within a collaborative service.
- Operate effectively in a fast‑paced environment demanding professional judgment and resilience.
Qualifications:
- A planning or related degree.
- Eligibility for full Membership of the RTPI.
- Substantial relevant professional experience (min. 5 years) or 3 years for a step‑up role.
- Chartered Town Planner Qualification, Level 7 (5 years) or equivalent.
- Experience working flexibly with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Experience in continuously improving services and developing products to meet customer needs.

- Full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle for work purposes.
