Summary
We are seeking a Senior Care Assistant to join our dedicated team at Safe Choice Care Ltd. In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering high-quality care to our clients, ensuring their health and wellbeing are prioritised. This position is essential for maintaining the trust and satisfaction of those we serve.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide high-quality personal care and support to clients in their homes.
* Develop and implement individualised care plans tailored to each client’s needs.
* Supervise junior staff and provide guidance on best practices in caregiving.
* Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals regarding care needs and progress.
* Monitor clients’ health and wellbeing, reporting any changes or concerns promptly.
* Assist with daily living activities such as meal preparation, medication management, and light housekeeping.
* Be available for on-call duty at least two weekends per month and throughout the week on a rota basis.
* Support the office team with care planning, staff rotas, and documentation.
* Respond effectively to incidents or emergencies, ensuring appropriate action is taken.
* Maintain accurate records using care management software.
Requirements
* NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) and willing to work towards higher qualifications.
* Previous experience in a senior care or caregiving role is essential.
* Strong understanding of care plans and the ability to implement them effectively.
* Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and their families.
* Leadership skills to supervise and mentor junior staff members.
* Basic IT skills for documentation and record-keeping purposes.
* Valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
* Flexibility to meet the demands of the role, including on-call duties.
