Financial Controller in Croydon

Safari 4x4 Engineering designs and manufactures industry leading aftermarket products to enhance diesel 4x4 vehicles. Established in 1981, our name is recognized worldwide within the 4x4 industry. This is a full-time position. Hours: 8am - 5pm Monday to Friday. Safari values the culture they have built and puts a strong emphasis on teamwork. For that reason, this role will be based 5 days on site.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as Financial Controller. Key Responsibilities

• Financial Control: Ensure timely and accurate month-end transactions, close processes, reconciliations, and reporting. Manage payroll and ensure on-time compliance with ATO requirements, including BAS, FBT, Foreign Exchange and end of Financial Year Reporting.
• Finance Systems: Oversee and manage the Business Central General Ledger system, MYOB Payroll and Time & Attendance systems to ensure timely and essential upgrades, enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives are undertaken.
• Business Partner: Act as the key finance business partner, providing financial insights and guidance to internal stakeholders and supporting decision-making processes.
• Compliance & Continuous Improvement: Monitor and update finance policies, manage debt and expenditure recognition, and lead continuous improvement efforts across finance systems and processes.
• Leadership: Provide support and guidance to the finance team, ensuring an effective and efficient working environment.

Skills & Experience

• A University degree in accounting, with CA/CPA qualification.
• 10+ years' experience in financial and management accounting roles, with a deep understanding of Australian Accounting Standards and taxation legislation.
• Knowledge of Pronto Finance software is preferred, Payroll systems and processes as well as extensive experience in Foreign Exchange.
• Ability to manage and resolve issues, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Hands-on approach and commitment to continuous improvement.
• Excellent computer skills in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Reliable and strong work ethic and good time management skills.
