Are you passionate about working with and supporting young people in an inclusive dance setting?

The NYDC Creative Access Officer will play a key role in ensuring young people can engage fully, confidently and equitably with the National Youth Dance Company, from first encounter through to company membership.

Working collaboratively with dancers, families, artists, audiences, support workers and staff, the post-holder will champion accessibility and inclusive practice across all areas of NYDC's work. They will work with colleagues across the NYDC team to reduce barriers to participation, coordinate access support and logistics, and contribute to the ongoing development of inclusive approaches that strengthen engagement, equity and access across the programme.

You Will Have The Following Skills And Experience

  • A compassionate, person-centred approach, with a commitment to understanding individual experiences, building positive relationships, and continually reflecting on and developing practice.
  • Commitment to accessibility, inclusion and equity.
  • Experience supporting disabled and neurodivergent young people.
  • Understanding of accessible communication practices and the ability to adapt information and communication styles to meet a range of needs.
  • Willingness to work away from home on NYDC projects
