Our client is an extremely ambitious digital product studio based in Cardiff. They build real things including a custom video player, enterprise software, scheduling platforms and work with Wales's best sports organisations.
The role involves mainly writing great code, helping the team think better, shaping the technical roadmap, jumping on new ideas early, and working with clients to build industry-leading platforms.
The stack includes:
- Next.js (App Router, TypeScript)
- Payload CMS
- AWS Services - PostgreSQL on AWS RDS, S3 + CloudFront, EC2 and Application Load Balancer
- Tailwind CSS 4
- NextAuth.js v5 + Cognito
They are moving away from WordPress and leaning into more considered, scalable architecture. Current projects include building and automating a licensing system across multiple departments, a streaming video platform using Vimeo and Zoom SDK, and a publishing site recently sense-checked and rebuilt with AI assistance.
What they need from you:
- Strong PHP and React / React Native experience
- AWS experience
- Comfortable working across the full stack
- Experience with Payload CMS, or similar CMSs
- REST and GraphQL APIs
- Git workflows and CI/CD pipelines
- Some exposure to AI-assisted development
