The Opportunity
Our client is expanding its enterprise Azure capability following the onboarding of a new global customer. This environment involves a consolidated Azure estate supporting international users and services, with governance and landing zones already in place. This role sits at the centre of that platform. You will help stabilise and operate a complex Azure infrastructure environment while working closely with the professional services team responsible for delivering new cloud architecture and automation. The focus is on maintaining platform stability, validating infrastructure changes and ensuring that deployments into Azure environments operate safely at scale. While the role is infrastructure led today, there is a clear pathway to deepen Azure expertise and move closer to automation and cloud engineering over time.
Job Responsibilities
- Own and resolve complex Azure infrastructure issues across hybrid cloud and enterprise Windows environments
- Provide senior technical oversight for a major global customer environment, ensuring platform stability and operational resilience
- Review and validate Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD pipeline deployments, understanding downstream impact and risk before production changes
- Operate and enhance Azure landing zone governance, naming conventions and environment standards
- Work alongside project and professional services teams implementing infrastructure improvements and cloud automation
- Mentor 2nd line engineers and help develop operational processes and technical runbooks
- Participate in major incident escalation and support global infrastructure operations when required
- Hands-on experience supporting Azure infrastructure within production environments
- Strong Windows / Wintel infrastructure background within enterprise environments
- Experience leading complex technical incidents and supporting enterprise-scale systems
- Solid understanding of Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD concepts, including the ability to interpret and validate deployments
- Comfortable working across global stakeholders and multi-site technical teams
Nice to Have's
- Experience working within a manager service provider or enterprise cloud transformation programme
- Exposure to Azure landing zone design, governance frameworks or consolidation projects
