Job Title: HR Advisor (Operational HR & Administration)


Location: Bridgend


Contract: Full-time, permanent


Salary: Β£30,000 to Β£40,000 per annum (dependent on experience)


About the Role


This is a hands-on, operational HR Advisor role within a manufacturing, logistics and ecommerce business, supporting a blue-collar, shift-based workforce. The role sits within an established HR team, reporting to the Head of HR, and combines first-line employee relations support with a strong emphasis on HR administration and process.


You will work closely with an experienced HR leadership team and act as the day-to-day point of contact for HR queries across the operational workforce.


Key Responsibilities


HR Advisory and Employee Relations



  • Act as first point of contact for day-to-day HR queries.

  • Support absence, performance, disciplinary and grievance processes.

  • Handle flexible working requests and general employment queries.

  • Build working relationships with line managers in an operational environment.


HR Administration and Employee Lifecycle



  • Deliver HR administration across the full employee lifecycle.

  • Draft contracts, offer letters and contractual variations.

  • Manage starters, leavers, onboarding and probation processes.

  • Maintain absence, sickness and holiday records.

  • Ensure employee records are accurate and GDPR compliant.

  • Keep HR policies, procedures and documentation up to date.


HR Systems, Data and Payroll Support



  • Maintain HR system data accuracy and integrity.

  • Support the implementation and ongoing use of the HR system.

  • Act as a system super-user for managers and employees.

  • Produce HR reports and metrics as required.

  • Support payroll processes within the HR team.


Operational Support and Continuous Improvement



  • Support a manufacturing and logistics workforce, including shift-based teams.

  • Manage own workload independently.

  • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes.

  • Support audits, compliance checks and internal reviews.


Experience Required



  • Experience in an HR Administrator or HR Advisor role supporting a blue-collar and white collar workforce.

  • Experience supporting absence, performance, disciplinary and grievance processes.

  • Experience managing starters, leavers, onboarding and probation processes.

  • Experience maintaining absence, sickness and holiday records.

  • Strong understanding of HR processes.

  • Comfortable working fully on site in a hands-on HR role.


Skills and Attributes



  • High attention to detail with a track record of producing accurate, well-structured work.

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.

  • Confident, calm communicator able to deal with experienced stakeholders.

  • Experience in manufacturing, logistics or similar environments.

  • Experience using HiBob or another HR system.

  • CIPD Level 3 or Level 5, or working towards.

  • Experience supporting audits or compliance activity.
