Overview
We are currently seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeping assistant to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong organisational skills and a solid background in finance and bookkeeping. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting our accounting department across all parts of the business helping to maintain smooth day-to-day operations and accurate financial records.
Responsibilities
- Liaising with global customers and consultants in a professional and courteous manner
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers and journals
- Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections
- Reconcile bank statements, credit cards, and other financial accounts
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments as required
- Assist with payroll processing and ensure statutory compliance
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes
- Generate financial reports and summaries for management
- Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and suppliers when necessary
- Maintain filing systems and ensure all financial documentation is complete and accurate
- Managing and prioritising multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, Accounts Assistant, or similar role
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or MYOB)
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Strong Excel and general IT skills
- AAT qualification or equivalent
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Job Details
- Job Type: Part-time
- Pay: £14.00 Per Hour
- Expected hours: 20 hours per week Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday (9:30am – 1:30pm)
- Work Location: Remote (there will be some requirement to attend meetings and for initial training)
