The Oxford Hills School District is seeking excellent candidates for the position of Functional Life Skills Teacher at The Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School in South Paris, ME. This position starts for the 2025/26 School year.

Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School serves approximately 1100 students in grades 9-12. The successful candidate will have a passion for working with students, employ effective teaching practices, and work collaboratively.

Looking for a teacher to share a large caseload of students in the life skills program at the high school level. This person should be very knowledgeable about students with significant disabilities, able to lift and bend, have understanding of ADL skill building and moving students to more independence in the future.

Candidates must hold a valid Maine certificate or the ability to obtain one with appropriate endorsement(s).

Reports to: Building Principal

Work Schedule: 180 Day Contract

MSAD #17 offers a robust employee benefits package for full‐time employees, including: health insurance with 80% of the premium paid by the employer (with up to 100% if both spouses work in the district); dental, vision, Group Life Insurance; flexible spending and dependent care accounts; Maine Public Employee Pension, 403(b) retirement plan eligibility; 15 paid sick days per year; and tuition reimbursement.

Special Education positions receive the following annual supplemental stipends:

  • Day Treatment Teachers - $4,500
  • Functional Life Skills Teachers - $4,400
  • Social Skills Teachers - $3,400
  • Resource Room Teachers - $2,000
  • Social Workers - $4,450
