As a M&E Project Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in our mission to create a state-of-the-art cancer centre. Join our dynamic team and make a difference!
The M&E Project Manager will be responsible for planning, implementing, and delivering the project according to programme and in compliance with the PPP agreement. Ensuring communication that results in understanding of all stakeholders to enable harmonious working relationships between all parties and that budget, and quality, are a prime focus.

Key Responsibilities include:
- Support the ProjectCo General Manager and Project Manager
- Work with Trust, stakeholders and local community
- Work with design team, construction team and hard FM team
- Work with ProjectCo specialists and experts through construction
- Oversight of programme for design, construction, and commissioning activity for the works, ensuring quality of work and a safe site.
- Responsible for assisting the PM in the execution of all tasks directly related to project monitoring and construction execution.
- Once into operations responsible for assisting the GM in the execution of all tasks directly related to project monitoring and hard FM execution.
- Primarily this role will be one of monitoring and audit.
- Technical installations design monitoring
- Construction monitoring (ME&P)
- Monitor the progress of the works against the construction programme
- Manage key information requirements within the Project Agreement/contract documents
- A focus on the monitoring of the sustainability aspects of the project such as the delivery of a BREEAM excellent hospital
- Monitoring of equipment solution
- Monitoring of energy solution and achievement of the design & construction energy target (DCET)
- Monitor BIM process as described in the BIM protocol and BIM execution plan
- Document control / communication
- Management of meetings, agendas, minutes, and action points
- Support PM / independent tester liaison
- Support PM / lender technical adviser liaison support
- Support PM / Liaison with most of the consultants such as the Energy Manager, the Fire Engineering consultant, the Energy audit consultant, Thermal audit consultant.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- Right to work in the UK
- City & Guilds / NVQ Diploma in either Electrical or Mechanical or equivalent
- CSCS Card valid
- At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role OR at least 10 years’ experience in a similar role
- Excellent communication skills
- Cardiff base or local to Cardiff
- Based on construction site.
- Health building and or technical construction experience
- Work with the Construction team
- Contribute to the successful delivery of the new Velindre Cancer Centre
- Enthusiastic and able to motivate the wider team working closely with ProjectCo General Manager and Project Manager
- Share new ideas and suggestions
