UpsideThis, a Scottish Government funded programme, delivers inclusive voluntary throughcare services across Scotland for men, women, and young people serving short‑term sentences or following periods on remand. A collaborative, relationship‑based partnership model underpins delivery to achieve positive outcomes for individuals and wider communities.

Role Title: 0.5 FTE Throughcare Community Worker – based in Fife, covering Males, Females and Young People.

Responsibilities:

  • Support people returning to their community after a short‐term sentence or period on remand, providing relational and practical support tailored to their needs.
  • Collaborate with Throughcare Prison Worker colleagues and partner organisations to co‑coordinate pre‑release planning and ensure the journey is effectively supported.
  • Facilitate connections to local, specialist, and broader community services.
  • Establish trusting, genuine relationships with a compassionate approach.
  • Demonstrate self‑motivation, collaboration and partnership across organisations and sectors to secure the best outcomes.
  • Support the team, pod area and wider service delivery, showing flexibility to respond to service demand.
  • Work as part of a dynamic local team with workers from across partner organisations.
  • Primarily remote work, with occasional presence at designated hubs in Edinburgh, Glasgow or Kirkcaldy, and travel to support engagement events across the partnership.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Education at least SVQ Level 3 or equivalent (desirable).
  • Experience supporting individuals in a community setting (essential).
  • Current driving licence and ability to use a car for work (essential).
  • Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (essential).
