About Sackville School
We are seeking an outstanding, full-time Head of Business Studies & IT to join our thriving senior school in Hildenborough, Kent. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious, forward-thinking teacher to lead two dynamic subjects and inspire pupils across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5. Sackville School is a thriving independent senior school (11‑18) of 220 boys and girls. It offers an ambitious education that is individually tailored for each pupil to realise their potential, with excellent academic outcomes and a warm sense of community.
About the Role
- Contract type: Full time, permanent.
- Salary: Dependent on experience.
- Start date: Sep 2026.
- Closing date: 20th March 2026, with interviews the following week.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Lead and develop the Business Studies and IT departments.
- Teach engaging and inspiring lessons across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5.
- Foster enthusiasm for Business Studies and IT among pupils.
- Set and mark classwork, homework, internal assessments and examinations.
- Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and contribute to whole‑school tracking.
- Take responsibility for a form group, including pastoral care, parent communication, mentoring and report writing.
- Plan and deliver meaningful form time activities and assemblies.
- Attend parents' evenings for all classes taught.
- Prepare reports in line with the school calendar and expectations.
Qualifications
- Holds a good honours degree.
- Has strong subject knowledge in Business Studies and IT.
- Can teach confidently across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5.
- Is an excellent classroom practitioner who leads by example.
- Understands the wider impact of their subject across the school.
- Demonstrates collaborative working practices and leadership potential.
- Can manage change and work effectively under pressure.
- Has a warm, approachable manner and strong pastoral instincts.
