Job Description

We are working with a friendly local firm who are looking to bring in an additional Probate Fee Earner to their Private Client team.

The Role

You will take a leading role in the administration of estates, including high value and complex

matters, and serve as a trusted advisor to clients navigating the probate process. Managing your own caseload, you will be liaising with executors, beneficiaries, HMRC, and other professional parties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a full and varied caseload of probate matters, including complex, high-value, and
  • taxable estates.
  • Prepare and submit probate applications (both online and paper), including IHT205 and
  • IHT400 forms.
  • Draft detailed estate accounts, deal with the collection and distribution of assets, and handle
  • cross-border elements.
  • Liaise with executors, beneficiaries, HMRC, financial institutions, and the Probate Registry.

About You

  • A minimum of 6-8 years' experience in UK probate and estate administration
  • Qualified Chartered Legal Executive or STEP qualified fee earner.
  • Proven ability to manage complex matters independently with minimal supervision.
  • In-depth knowledge of inheritance tax reporting, estate taxation, and probate processes.
  • Experience with international estates, trusts, or business succession matters.
