Full time - 42 hours per week, based at Flitwick site. Focused on recyclable and compostable products, we design and manufacture award-winning, sustainable food packaging solutions exported worldwide. Our creativity and innovation takes inspiration from our markets around the globe.

As our Engineer, you will:

  • Provide fast and efficient installation, diagnostics, repairs and preventive maintenance to all the machinery, plant and equipment within the factory, keeping the Senior Works Engineer fully informed and up-to-date;
  • Carry out basic electrical fault diagnosis and repairs;
  • Work with the Senior Works Engineer to facilitate large or major repairs to plant and equipment;
  • Assist in the development and implementation of a planned maintenance programme in consultation with the Senior Works Engineer;
  • Demonstrate the effectiveness of planned maintenance through reducing numbers of breakdowns and problem-free equipment installations;
  • Purchase sundries, machine parts and services, in liaison with the Senior Works Engineer, with due regard for stock levels and overall budget;
  • Arrange, assist and direct external contractors for specialist work or installations in consultation with the Senior Works Engineer and Operations Director;
  • Participate in the technical aspects of capital investment decisions;
  • Advise senior management on Health and Safety issues or concerns.

If you have the following skills and attributes, then we want to hear from you:

  • Recent, relevant and proven experience as a maintenance engineer or similar role.
  • Higher level qualification in engineering or manufacturing.
  • Solid understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanics.
  • Familiarity using various power and hand tools.
  • Ability to stand for long hours and lift heavy loads.
  • Problem-solving and organisational skills - a self-starter who is well organised, positive, flexible and highly motivated to get the job done efficiently and safely using own initiative, and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to working hours and ability to work some overtime.
  • Confident in communicating verbally and in writing in English.
