About the Company
My client is a highly entrepreneurial, privately owned FMCG food manufacturing group based in West Yorkshire, supplying a range of products through retail outlets across the UK. Due to continued growth within the finance function, they are wishing to recruit an Assistant Management Accountant to support the preparation of management accounts and operational reporting across the business. This role offers excellent exposure to a fast-moving FMCG environment and the opportunity to develop management accounting and commercial finance skills within a supportive team.
About the Role
Reporting to the Senior Management Accountant, this role will support the production of management accounts, performance reporting, and analysis to assist operational and commercial decision-making. The position is well suited to a part-qualified accountant looking to build experience in a manufacturing business.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts and cost of sales analysis.
- Support the production of monthly KPIs and performance reports.
- Prepare weekly site performance and operational reports.
- Produce margin and variance analysis on products and production costs.
- Support budget and forecast variance analysis, working with operational teams to understand results.
- Assist in maintaining and improving standard product costings.
- Prepare stock, margin, and other routine operational reports.
- Support ad-hoc cost analysis and reporting requests.
- Assist with ERP system reporting and finance process improvements as required.
Candidate Profile
You will be studying towards AAT, CIMA, ACCA or ACA (or have equivalent experience) and have some exposure to management accounting or finance reporting, ideally within a manufacturing or FMCG environment. You will be comfortable working with Excel, have a strong attention to detail, and be keen to develop your commercial and analytical skills. This is an excellent opportunity for a developing finance professional to gain hands-on experience in a growing FMCG business with clear progression opportunities.
