About the Company
My client, based in Kingston Upon Hull, is a privately owned, highly entrepreneurial organisation, with an impressive track record of growth in recent years. An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Finance Manager/ Senior Finance Manager to step into a 9/12 month fixed term contract.
Role Overview
- Management and motivation of a small finance team.
- Preparation of accurate monthly management accounts with commentary and comparison to budget.
- Preparation and review of periodic financial statements, including profit and loss, balance sheet, budgets, cash flows and variance analysis.
- Liaise with Senior Management team investigating actual sales variances against budget and forecast.
- Completion and submission of Quarterly VAT returns.
- Preparation and processing of the monthly payroll including submissions to HMRC.
- Analysis and reporting of core KPIs financial and non-financial, plans and forecasts.
- Enhance existing controls, processes and procedures system reports and develop reports to improve reliability and accuracy.
- Support the on-going development of in-house stock system reporting leading to improved operational visibility, tracking stock valuation and minimising financial risk.
- Support the Finance Director ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements including year-end files and liaison with auditors.
Candidate Profile
Qualified ACA/CIMA or ACCA or equivalent experience with a demonstrable track record of building and maintaining robust financial controls and processes ideally with extensive post qualification experience. You will be expected to take a hands-on approach in the monthly reporting cycle, as well as the ability to add commercial and business acumen to a range of on-going finance projects. Highly numerate you will possess strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate and communicate with people of all levels of seniority.
