SaB Consultancy are delighted to be exclusively recruiting fa Group Financial Reporting Lead role to join a growing, Food, FMCG group of companies based in West Yorkshire. With an impressive track record of growth, the business has a true global footprint and is a market leader in its field of speciality.Reporting to the Group CFO this role is an integral part of the senior leadership team, playing a key supporting role in the delivery of accurate and timely consolidated financial reporting for the wider Group.
The Role
Reporting to the Group CFO and working closely with finance leads across each business unit (BU), the role focuses on technical accounting, reporting consistency, and control processes across the group. The position helps ensure a reliable and scalable financial reporting framework during a period of growth and potential acquisition activity.
Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate, timely consolidated monthly management accounts for the group in line with set timelines and formats, and relevant accounting standards.
- Maintain the group reporting timetable, coordinating periodic inputs from BU finance teams and ensuring adherence.
- Assist the CFO in preparing board-level analysis and commentary.
- Draft consolidated statutory accounts for review by the CFO and auditors.
- Coordinate audit deliverables across group entities; responding to audit queries.
- Plan timescales and coordinate group budgets and rolling forecasts, using inputs from each BU.
- Assist the CFO with financial modelling and scenario analysis.
- Consolidate and analyse short- and medium-term group cash forecasts.
- Support the development of improved cash forecasting templates and reporting standards.
- Identify cash flow trends and help flag potential risks or working capital pressure points within the group.
- Maintain and offer development to group financial control standards, reporting formats, and reconciliation standards.
- Ensure intercompany balances are reviewed and eliminated appropriately.
- Support continuous improvements to reporting tools and processes.
- Work with the CFO to develop more scalable financial reporting and consolidation in the group.
- Provide support for integration of accounting, reporting and control processes of newly acquired business.
- Liaise regularly with BU finance leads to support group-level consolidation and compliance.
- Promote consistent application of accounting policies across the group where relevant.
Candidate profile
Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA (Industry background OR First-time mover from practice). You will possess 35 years post-qualification experience, ideally with group reporting or consolidation exposure considering ideally FRS102. You will demonstrate strong IT skills and be proficient in the use of Excel, familiarity with consolidation software or ERP systems preferred.
