Role Summary

In its 40th year we are seeking a dynamic Partnerships Manager to join our partnerships team and play a key role in building corporate relationships which contribute to the Gallery’s financial sustainability. The successful candidate will need to have experience of developing and implementing partnerships in the UK, ideally within cultural sector.

Role Description

As Corporate Partnerships Manager, you will be responsible for identifying, securing, and managing partnerships with corporate organisations. You’ll deliver revenue-generating sponsorships, brand activations, and bespoke collaborations that support the Gallery’s mission while delivering partner objectives. This role requires a good communicator, who understands the cultural sector, commercial partnerships, and marketing strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and secure new corporate partners through prospect research, networking, and tailored proposals.
  • Develop compelling partnership propositions aligned with the Gallery’s exhibitions, programmes, and brand values.
  • Negotiate and deliver high-value sponsorships and collaborations in line with the partnership team strategy which generate required income to meet departmental targets.
  • Manage existing partner relationships, ensuring successful activation, fulfilment of contractual benefits, and excellent account management to increase client retention.
  • Work cross-functionally with events, marketing, curatorial, retail, learning and operations teams to deliver integrated partnership campaigns.
  • Track and report on partnership performance, providing insights and impact metrics for internal stakeholders and write evaluation reports for sponsors.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, identifying new opportunities for innovative brand alignments and thought-leadership initiatives.
  • Attend events and networking forums at the Gallery and externally to help network for new prospective partners and act as an advocate for the Gallery.

Person Specification

Essential:

  • A track record in securing and managing corporate sponsorships, ideally within the arts, culture, or media sectors.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft persuasive proposals and pitch with confidence.
  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to build relationships at all levels and manage multiple stakeholders.
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • A problem solver who can think creatively and confidently tackle challenges as they arise.
  • A flexible and proactive approach, with the ability to succeed in a collaborative team environment, while also demonstrating initiative when working independently.

Desirable:

  • Experience working in a gallery, museum, or similar cultural institution.
  • Experience of working at a non-for-profit organisation.
