An opportunity has become available to join the Young Adults Service (YAS). YAS is a county-wide community-based service that works in partnership with Young Gloucestershire (YG) and provides tailored, trauma-informed mental health support to prepare young people aged 16-25 years for adulthood and independence. The initiative emphasises early identification of emerging mental health issues for timely access to specialist care and offers flexible, personalised care packages for those young people with complex emotional and mental health needs who typically do not meet the threshold of adult mental health services and who services are challenged to engage with.
Responsibilities
- Provide a range of specialist assessment and treatment interventions for young people (16-25 yrs) as well as their families/carers who present with emotional and mental health difficulties.
- Undertake clinical responsibility and be able to work independently in managing a clinical caseload.
- Provide specialist clinical risk assessments and risk management plans as part of routine clinical work ensuring that all aspects of clinical caseload work adheres to current Trust safeguarding as well as risk assessment and management best practice procedures.
- Work flexibly to provide interventions within a range of clinical and community settings dependent on client and service need.
- Situations may demand an unpredictable work pattern and difficult situations as well as the need to balance a range of complex and high-risk clinical needs and presentations.

Essential
- Qualifications
- Professional Health qualification: RNLD, RMHN, OT, MHSW
- Demonstrate current registration with a regulated professional body/organisation: NMC, HCPC
- Evidence of formal post registration learning
- Significant clinical experience of delivering evidence based/best practice clinical interventions within CAMHS and/or AMHS or related services.
- Significant clinical experience of specialist care planning & case management/care coordination (including complex clinical risk assessment & management) within a mental health setting.
- Experience of identifying and managing complex safeguarding concerns, including using formal processes to escalate safeguarding issues.
- Significant experience of providing personalised care planning to meet mental health needs.
- Demonstrate profession based clinical reasoning, knowledge, skills and competencies regarding a range of CAMHS and/or AMHS therapeutic interventions, including current best practice.
- Working knowledge of therapeutic use and application of CAMHS and/or AMHS specific interventions, i.e. CBT, DBT.
- Sound knowledge of childhood developmental theories/stages.
- Commitment to developing the Participation agenda within the service by working collaboratively with young people to help ensure their 'voice' is heard at all levels of service delivery.
- Expertise in undertaking complex risk assessment and developing effective risk management plans, including positive clinical risk management approaches.
- Working knowledge of key principles and best practice regarding transition of care of young people between services/agencies.
Desirable
- Post graduate training within a relevant CAMHS and/or AMHS field or skill.
