Job Summary

Provide senior clinical leadership to Dean Ward, a 15‑bed female ward. Duties include direct patient care, supervision and consultation of colleagues, and representation at Mental Health Act Managers’ Meetings and Review Tribunals. Responsibilities extend to working with the wider multidisciplinary team (MDT) and the patients’ support systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead clinical practice in Dean Ward, ensuring high quality care for all inpatients.
• Collaborate with medical colleagues, MDT members and patient support networks.
• Maintain responsibility for all inpatients under your care (Responsible Clinician duties).
• Provide written and oral evidence at Mental Health Act meetings and tribunals.

Person Specification

Essential Experience

• Higher specialist training or extensive psychiatry experience.

Essential Knowledge

• Understanding of NHS policies and procedures related to medical practice.

Essential Personal Skills

• Good interpersonal skills and aptitude for leadership.
