In this rewarding role, you’ll be the friendly, knowledgeable presence who helps colleagues solve issues, build skills, and feel supported during their day-to-day clinical work. You’ll provide both on-site and remote support, assist with floorwalking activities, and play an important part in ensuring our clinical systems are used safely and effectively. If you enjoy helping others, communicating clearly, and being part of a dynamic team driving digital improvement, this is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact.

What we are looking for:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Confidence supporting system users in fast-paced clinical environments;
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with good attention to detail;
  • The ability to remain calm and professional when dealing with complex or sensitive issues;
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities;
  • A positive, team-focused approach.

Previous experience in clinical systems, digital support, or NHS settings is desirable but not essential if you can demonstrate the right approach and willingness to learn. The role is a 12-month fixed-term contract with a start date from April 2026.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Clinical Systems Training team in building the floorwalking schedule/plan.
  • Deliver floorwalking activities onsite or remotely in line with the schedule & plan.
  • Maintain a log of floorwalking issues identified to pass across to the wider clinical systems team and service desk.
  • Assist services with identification and planning of any further support needs identified.
  • Attend regular training sessions to gain and maintain specialist knowledge of the functionality and application of the Trust’s system(s).
  • Support and assist Clinical Systems training in the creation of floorwalking plans and rotas.
  • Provide floorwalking support on site at various locations and/or remotely to staff who require it.
  • Assist with booking resources (rooms, etc.) across various sites to deliver floorwalking activities.
  • Resolve a wide range of often complex user queries with careful analysis, mindful of Trust policies and legal requirements.
  • Monitor requests for additional floorwalking requirements and integrate them into overall plans.
  • Plan resources to operate the floorwalking service, including ordering service materials & resources.
  • Organise and plan floorwalking events across sites (e.g., drop-in sessions, remote help sessions).
  • Host and deliver floorwalking and supporting events.
  • Communicate effectively with a range of staff, keep accurate records of activity, schedules, and issues in line with Trust policies.
  • Explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical staff and coach them in using the systems effectively.
  • Escalate queries appropriately to senior colleagues.
  • Ensure all issues & incidents are logged with sufficient detail to enable timely investigation and resolution.
  • Document resolutions to help build a knowledge base for Clinical Systems and Service Desk teams.
  • Handle sensitive information with tact and diplomacy.
  • Minimise health, safety and security risks and report incidents as required.
  • Suggest improvements to practice and share them with the appropriate person.
  • Maintain quality in own work and encourage others to do so while prioritising workload and meeting floorwalking schedules.
