Saalex is seeking a
Media Center (MC) Audiovisual Technician in Newport, RI to provide frontline customer service and technical support for multimedia presentation, collaboration, and video teleconferencing (VTC) environments.
This position is responsible for the installation, operation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and support of audiovisual systems used in conference rooms, meeting facilities, and mission-critical collaboration spaces.
The technician also assists with the facilitation of video conferences and multimedia presentations while ensuring equipment reliability and a positive user experience.
Position Type: Full-Time
Work Location: Onsite.
Essential Functions
- Install, configure, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot audiovisual and VTC systems.
- Provide technical support for video conferencing platforms including Microsoft Teams, Cisco, Polycom, Vidyo, and similar technologies.
- Support audio, video, projection, video wall, digital signage, and control system environments.
- Install audiovisual cabling, wall plates, mounts, displays, and related infrastructure.
- Perform fault isolation and corrective maintenance on audiovisual equipment.
- Operate and monitor facility equipment during meetings and presentations.
- Maintain accurate user guides, technical documentation, and operational procedures.
- Shut down, clean, secure, and prepare facilities for daily operations.
- Provide after-hours and occasional weekend support as required.
- Other duties as assigned or required.
Required
- 1-3 years of audiovisual, multimedia, or video teleconferencing support experience.
- Experience installing, operating, and troubleshooting audiovisual systems and related technologies.
- Ability to learn and support a wide variety of audiovisual hardware and software platforms.
- Strong customer service, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to lift 40 pounds or more.
- Ability to climb ladders or scaffolding and work in elevated or confined spaces.
- Ability to stand, kneel, crouch, and perform physical installation activities.
Desired
- Operational knowledge of complex audiovisual systems and enterprise VTC environments.
- Experience supporting control systems such as AMX, Extron, or Crestron.
- Experience supporting audio platforms such as Biamp, Clear One, or Extron.
- Experience supporting video wall technologies, digital signage, and large-format display systems.
- Audiovisual industry certifications, manufacturer certifications, or related technical credentials.
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree or technical training in Audiovisual Technology, Electronics, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
Security Clearance
Must be eligible to obtain a Secret clearance, active Secret clearance preferred. Requirements to obtain a clearance include US Citizenship, security investigation, etc.
