SAAF Education is seeking an experienced and proactive Accounts Assistant to join our finance team based at our Hull office. This role offers hybrid working and is ideal for a finance professional who is confident managing day-to-day accounts tasks while communicating effectively with both clients and internal stakeholders. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the financial operations of the business and ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and strong credit control.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing debt chasing and credit control processes, ensuring timely collection of outstanding balances and maintaining positive relationships with clients.
  • Processing purchase invoices accurately and efficiently, posting journals, reconciling accounts, and supporting month-end processes.
  • Liaising regularly with internal departments to resolve queries, provide financial information, and support smooth operational workflows.
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting compliance with internal controls and procedures.

Essential Criteria

  • Proven experience working in an accounts or finance role, with demonstrable experience in debt chasing and credit control.
  • Confidence in processing purchase invoices, posting journals, and maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate professionally and effectively with clients, colleagues, and senior staff.
  • Organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
  • A proactive and reliable approach, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
