Role Overview

We are currently recruiting experienced and qualifiedHigher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) to join our supply team forday-to-day and short-term coveracross Sheffield and Rotherham. Roles are available inmainstream primary schools, as well asspecialist provision schools.

This is a fantastic opportunity for Experienced / Senior Teaching Assistants who are flexible, reliable, and passionate about supporting pupils with additional needs to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver planned lessons and learning activities in the absence of the class teacher

  • Provide targeted support to pupils with SEN/SEMH on a 1:1 or small group basis

  • Support classroom teachers with differentiation, behaviour management, and inclusive practices

  • Adapt learning materials and strategies to suit individual learning styles and needs

  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers and school SENCOs

  • Uphold school safeguarding procedures and promote a safe, nurturing learning environment

Candidate Requirements

Essential:

  • Relevant HLTA qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 4 or equivalent)

  • Proven experience working with children and young people with SEN and/or SEMH

  • Knowledge of a range of learning difficulties, behavioural strategies, and inclusion techniques

  • Flexible and confident in managing classrooms across EYFS and Primary

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply through us)

  • Right to work in the UK

Desirable:

  • Experience in Pupil Referral Units (PRUs), SEND schools, or alternative provision settings

  • Team Teach or de-escalation training

  • Knowledge of EHCP processes and behaviour support plans
