This role is a 12 month Fixed Term Contract. At Saab, we are constantly looking ahead and pushing boundaries on what is considered technically possible. Saab is expanding in the UK and we are now seeking a passionate, talented and highly motivated technical IT Project Manager. Responsible for delivering complex IT projects and supporting the delivery of IT change initiatives across Saab UK.
Working closely with and reporting to the Senior IT Project Manager, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering assigned IT projects or workstreams, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting the end-to-end delivery of IT infrastructure and change projects, from initiation through to completion, under the guidance of senior project leadership.
- Developing and maintaining project plans, working with internal teams and third-party suppliers to coordinate resources and activities effectively.
- Managing day-to-day project activities, tracking progress, and escalating risks, issues, and dependencies as appropriate.
- Ensuring project deliverables meet required quality and governance standards, adhering to Saab UK's project management frameworks.
- Assisting with budget tracking, forecasting, and change control, ensuring impacts to scope, schedule, and cost are clearly understood and communicated.
- Collaborating with technical teams to coordinate IT changes across infrastructure environments, leveraging a solid general understanding of IT systems.
- Building strong working relationships with stakeholders, providing clear and timely updates to support informed decision-making.
- Acting as a key point of contact for assigned projects or workstreams, ensuring effective communication and smooth delivery.

Skills and Experience:
- Demonstrable IT experience with exposure to the full project lifecycle.
- Experience supporting or delivering IT projects across a range of technology areas, such as:
- Infrastructure (networks, servers, storage)
- Networking
- Windows, Linux, VMware/Hyper-V
- IT security
- Good technical understanding with the ability to work effectively within structured or secure IT environments.
- Proficient in the use of project planning and tracking tools.
- Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage tasks and identify dependencies across project activities.
- Understanding of project governance and quality standards, with experience working within defined frameworks.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Clear and effective communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders at various levels.
- Collaborative team player with the ability to support and coordinate cross-functional teams.
