Role Overview

Saab Seaeye is pleased to offer an exciting opportunity to join our Repairs Team as an Electro-Mechanical Technician. The role is responsible for the inspection, fault-finding, repair, refurbishment and re-build of electro-mechanical assemblies and PCBs returned from service. You will develop a strong understanding of real-world product performance and use structured fault-finding and root cause analysis techniques to identify and resolve issues. The role also provides the opportunity to develop an in-depth knowledge of Saab Seaeye's ROV product range, working across assemblies from component level through to final testing and sign-off.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect, diagnose, repair and re-build electro-mechanical assemblies, PCBs and associated components, including component-level repair and refurbishment.
  • Carry out structured fault-finding and root cause analysis using engineering drawings, electrical schematics, work instructions and appropriate test equipment.
  • Carry out soldering, electrical looming and other assembly activities to the required quality standards.
  • Work on complex electro-mechanical and hydraulic assemblies and assist with pressure, leak and soak testing as required.
  • Complete repair and refurbishment activities accurately and efficiently, meeting agreed quality and delivery requirements.
  • Identify recurring faults, quality issues and improvement opportunities, providing appropriate feedback to the Repairs Team Lead and relevant departments.
  • Carry out quality checks on repaired items and support the verification of work completed by other technicians where required.
  • Maintain accurate repair records and relevant company systems to ensure information is current and traceable.
  • Support 6S, lean working and continuous improvement activities, while working collaboratively with colleagues and other departments.
  • Use initiative and sound judgement to resolve technical challenges, manage workload effectively and support the training and development of colleagues and customers.
