This role is part of our Saab Seaeye Underwater Robotics Business. The primary responsibility is testing all main assemblies and sub‑assemblies (including PCBs) according to the correct test procedure, ensuring that components are completed on time, in line with delivery schedules, and meet the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Test and repair products as prioritized by the department team leader.
  • Generate, maintain, and update test procedures and build documentation.
  • Test or repair any PCBs or assemblies in accordance with test procedures and quality control standards.
  • Maintain or repair and help design company test equipment.
  • Highlight any build or design faults to the electronics workshop supervisor (Team Leader).
  • Raise change requests and provide information to improve product quality or efficiency to support continual improvement.
  • Help and support others with training when possible by sharing knowledge and skills.
  • Understand and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Ensure all soldering and electrical work meets high standards in line with company procedures.
  • Use crimp tools, crimps, receptacles, sleeving and heat shrink materials with strong knowledge.
  • Have a basic understanding of fibre‑optic termination equipment and testing.
  • Use all relevant IT systems and other systems required to perform the role.
  • Be competent with 3‑phase testing.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience working in a large‑scale production environment with skills in electro‑mechanical assembly and repairs.
  • Formal qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering – NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
  • Understanding of electronic manufacturing practices such as IPC or equivalent.
  • Preferable to have some high‑voltage knowledge and experience.
