SA Operations is recruiting a Tender Writer for a client in the renewable energy sector. The role involves preparing and submitting client proposals, working under the Commercial Manager’s guidance, and ensuring alignment with health, safety, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Examine tender documentation, including operational provisions, technical specifications, and commercial requirements.
- Liaise with suppliers, partners, and internal departments, defining deliverables.
- Define/propose technical solutions, methodologies, execution strategy, and draft work schedules.
- Perform cost calculations and project budgeting.
- Prepare and submit technical and commercial proposals according to client requirements and company guidelines.
- Liaise and attend meetings with the client throughout the bid cycle.
- Produce reports and maintain records throughout the bidding process to ensure approval, traceability, and efficient handover.
- Participate in business development activities such as social media marketing and conference attendance.
- Manage customer relationships during tender clarification stages.
- Develop tender strategy to meet customer requirements.
- Prepare, issue, and follow up on tenders, pricing/cost spreadsheets, and clarification documents, managing filing and archiving.
- Ensure proper distribution/collection of documents during preparation, review, and negotiation of tenders.
- Conduct peer reviews for each tender.
- Liaise with Technical, Contract, and Procurement departments for advice on method statements and technical solutions.
- Select and manage services/subcontractors until agreement finalisation.
- Coordinate with the Planning & Risk Manager on tender risks.
Candidate Profile
- At least 2+ years of relevant technical experience.
- Commercial acumen and attention to detail.
- Proficient in MS Office.
- Excellent written and oral English; good presentation skills and persuasive style.
- Ability to work to deadlines and flexible approach.
- Right to live and work in the UK.
