As part of our Finance team, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the firm’s financial operations, supporting colleagues across the business and contributing to our continued success. Explore what’s possible with SA Law.

What you’ll do

  • As a Senior Accounts Assistant, you will be responsible for a broad range of financial tasks, helping to maintain accurate records and support effective financial management across the firm. Your work will include:
  • Managing and processing billing and invoicing activities
  • Performing bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Maintaining the purchase ledger, including supplier invoices and payments
  • Assisting in the preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Supporting the preparation and submission of VAT returns
  • Inputting, authorising and releasing TT and BACS payments via online banking systems
  • Processing and posting month-end journals
  • Ensuring accurate financial records and compliance with internal controls
  • Supporting the team with additional ad hoc finance tasks as required

About you

You’ll be an experienced finance professional who takes pride in accuracy and reliability, and who enjoys working as part of a collaborative team. You’ll bring:

  • Previous experience in a legal accounting or finance role
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • A good understanding of accounting principles and SRA Accounts Rules
  • Experience using legal accounting systems, payroll software and Excel
  • A proactive, organised approach and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Strong communication skills and a willingness to support colleagues across the firm
