SA Law is seeking an Associate or Senior Solicitor to join its Employment Team with a specialized focus on data protection, privacy, and information governance. The role involves advising commercial clients on data protection compliance while collaborating across corporate, commercial, dispute resolution, and property practices.
Key Eligibility Criteria
- Qualified Solicitor in England and Wales.
- Ideally 4-5 years of post-qualification experience (PQE).
- Strong background in UK data protection and privacy law, with awareness of EU GDPR and global privacy developments.
- Demonstrated experience in drafting and negotiating commercial and data protection documentation.
Responsibilities & Scope of Work
- Advising clients on UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018, and PECR compliance, governance, and risk.
- Drafting and reviewing privacy notices, employee privacy notices, data processing agreements, and data sharing agreements.
- Handling workplace data protection issues, including employee monitoring, subject access requests, and HR-related compliance.
- Providing guidance on data breaches, incident response, and regulatory investigations.
- Supporting corporate and commercial colleagues with data protection input on transactions, contracts, and business projects.
- Building and developing client relationships and participating in business development initiatives.
