As a Senior Accounts Assistant, you will be responsible for a broad range of financial tasks, helping to maintain accurate records and support effective financial management across the firm. Your work will include:
- Managing and processing billing and invoicing activities
- Performing bank and credit card reconciliations
- Maintaining the purchase ledger, including supplier invoices and payments
- Assisting in the preparation of monthly management accounts
- Supporting the preparation and submission of VAT returns
- Inputting, authorising and releasing TT and BACS payments via online banking systems
- Processing and posting month-end journals
- Ensuring accurate financial records and compliance with internal controls
- Supporting the team with additional ad hoc finance tasks as required
About you:
- Previous experience in a legal accounting or finance role
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- A good understanding of accounting principles and SRA Accounts Rules
- Experience using legal accounting systems, payroll software and Excel
- A proactive, organised approach and the ability to manage competing priorities
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to support colleagues across the firm
