Job Context/Purpose
We are seeking an ambitious and proactive Business Development Executive to join our International Sales team. This pivotal role focuses on driving new business growth and expanding SA Equip’s global market share, particularly within the oil & gas and industrial markets. The successful candidate will identify opportunities, build and nurture relationships, and achieve sales growth by promoting our specialist product range. The role requires a confident self‑starter with strong commercial acumen, technical curiosity and the ability to operate effectively in international markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, qualify and pursue new business opportunities globally – with a focus on oil & gas, energy and heavy industrial applications.
- Generate and manage your own sales pipeline, from prospecting through to closing.
- Prepare and deliver high‑impact sales presentations, proposals and quotations tailored to customer needs.
- Build and maintain strong, long‑term relationships with key customers, distributors and partners.
- Provide technical guidance and product knowledge to clients, working closely with internal engineering and product teams.
- Attend industry events, exhibitions and conferences to represent SA Equip and build brand visibility.
- Support with research and analysis of market trends, customer needs and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities.
- Contribute to marketing strategy and new product development by sharing insights from the field.
- Work cross‑functionally with marketing, operations and product teams to ensure a seamless customer experience.
- Provide regular sales reports, forecasts and updates to management.
Job Requirements
- Proven track record in B2B sales, ideally within the oil & gas, industrial or engineering sectors.
- Demonstrated ability to generate own leads, build relationships and close complex sales.
- Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
- Strong commercial awareness and customer‑focused mindset.
- Comfortable with global travel and working across different cultures and markets.
- Self‑motivated, results‑driven and able to work autonomously as well as collaboratively.
Nice to have
- Technical understanding of portable equipment or solutions for harsh and hazardous areas.
