I am looking for a Vice President, Translational Science – R&D
We\’re hiring an experienced VP to lead translational strategy at an oncology-focused biotech. You\’ll drive programs from discovery through IND and into the clinic—owning biomarker development, preclinical studies, and cross-functional delivery. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced, collaborative environment where your decisions will directly impact the success of a cutting-edge oncology pipeline. You\’ll be part of a small, focused team working on science with real clinical promise — and your voice will help shape how it reaches patients.
Location – This is a hybrid role in London.
Experience
- You should have experience leading an oncology program into clinical trial, with direct involvement in regulatory submissions.
- A strong background in biomarkers, cancer tumour biology, in vivo models, PK/PD, IND/CTA and biomarker strategy, and immuno-oncology is essential, along with the ability to use genetic data to support patient selection. IND/CTA and biomarker strategy
- Great experience and confident communication with stakeholders.
- Evidence for attention to detail, highly organised and successful time management, and a great ability to work under pressure towards tight deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Be confident in leading the development of a small molecule oncology program from preclinical to early clinical stages.
- You’ll manage cross-functional teams, drive the translational and biomarker strategy, oversee preclinical studies, and lead IND and EMA filings.
- This role involves working closely with internal and external partners to keep the program on track and within budget.
- The VP of Translational Science must be able to effectively lead and coordinate a range of different scientific and operational roles.
