Working as part of a collaborative group of veterinary professionals and dedicated support staff, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring high standards of animal care across a diverse range of species. You\’ll be based at a leading-edge research facility, where your clinical skills will support ethically grounded, welfare-focused programs.
What You’ll Do
- Act as a deputy Named Veterinary Surgeon under the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act
- Deliver expert clinical care and case management, including anaesthesia, surgery, and ophthalmology
- Provide advice and guidance on animal welfare, contributing to internal ethical review processes
- Engage with multidisciplinary teams, regulatory bodies, and clients to ensure compliance and excellence in veterinary care
- Support and potentially lead specialist research, with opportunities to publish and present work
What We’re Looking For
- Eligibility for membership of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS)
- Strong clinical foundation in medicine and surgery, with interest in developing skills across a variety of species
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Prior experience in laboratory animal medicine is an advantage, but full training will be provided
- Willingness to participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota (non-onerous)
