We’re looking for a Calibration and Maintenance Engineer to join a forward-thinking biopharmaceutical manufacturer at the forefront of gene therapy development.
As the Calibration & Maintenance Engineer, you’ll provide subject matter expertise in the establishment, improvement, and execution of maintenance and calibration programmes across critical GMP assets. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring equipment reliability, compliance, and readiness for regulatory inspections, enabling the seamless manufacture and testing of advanced therapies.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and oversee all calibration and maintenance activities across GMP equipment and systems
- Define and implement best practices for maintenance, metrology, and asset management in line with cGMP standards
- Coordinate and supervise internal and external service providers, ensuring all work is completed to the highest standard and documented appropriately
- Review, approve, and author calibration and maintenance technical documentation throughout the equipment lifecycle
- Provide technical support during regulatory audits and inspections, acting as SME for calibration and maintenance
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, service, and cost efficiency
- Manage quality processes, including deviations, CAPAs, change controls, and risk assessments in line with site QMS requirements
- A relevant HNC / HND / Degree in Engineering or a related discipline
- Hands‑on experience performing or supervising maintenance within GMP operational facilities
- Familiarity with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
- Excellent communication and documentation skills, with strong attention to compliance and detail
- Experience setting up, performing and doing calibration routines
- Confidence in contributing during inspections and audits as a subject matter expert
