Join us to build the future of financial advice, personal, accessible, and made for today.
Financial advice has been too expensive, exclusive, and out of reach for too long. At Clove, we pair trusted advisers with technology to close the advice gap and help people make smarter decisions with their money, mainly ambitious professionals in their 30s and 40s. As one of our early hires, you will own how Clove shows up on screen, and build the studio that gets us there.
Video is how a lot of people will first meet us. That covers a fair bit: podcasts, short and long form video, launch announcements, case study films. A lot of it is real conversations with founders, advisers, and people working out their money out loud. Right now we outsource it. Your job is to bring it in house, build a proper studio from scratch, and then run everything that happens in it: the kit, the schedule, the editors, the guests, and the finished films.
We are a small, senior team, and content is how we reach people at scale. Great video is how good advice travels beyond the handful of people who could ever sit in a room with an adviser, and reaches the many who never could.
The role
This is a build-it-from-scratch job. You will set up our in-house video studio, get it running, and own everything that happens in it. You will bring in the freelance editors who turn raw footage into finished pieces, and you will look after the guests who come through the door so they have a brilliant time and want to come back.
It is part operations, part creative, part people. You are as comfortable speccing out a lighting setup as you are directing a founder through their third take or putting a nervous first-timers guest at ease five minutes before we hit record. And above all, you really get YouTube. You know what makes someone click, what keeps them watching past the first 30 seconds, and what brings them back for the next one.
What you'll do
Build and run the studio. Spec the kit, set up the space, and get it to a point where we can shoot consistently without it being a faff every time. There is real budget to build it properly. Own the schedule, the bookings, the workflow from idea to final cut. When something breaks at 9am before a shoot, you are the one who sorts it.
Direct people on camera. Get the best out of whoever is in front of the lens, our founders, our team, and guests. Make people feel relaxed, keep the energy up, and know when you have got the take.
Hire and manage freelance editors. Find good editors, brief them properly, and keep the work moving. You will set the bar for quality, give clear feedback, and make sure things land on time and on budget. Over time you build a small bench of people we can rely on.
Source guests and look after them. Research and book guests who are right for what we are making. Handle the outreach, the logistics, the prep, and the day-of experience. Guests should leave thinking that was one of the smoothest, most enjoyable shoots they have done.
Keep it compliant. We are a regulated wealth business, currently going through FCA authorisation, so you will work with us to keep content on the right side of the rules. It is part of the job, not a blocker, and we will not let it get in the way of making good stuff.
Your background
You have produced video before, ideally in a fast-moving setting where you wore a few hats at once. You know your way around a studio and the kit that goes in it, and you understand the full production process from pre to post.
You are organised in the way that actually matters: things do not slip, people know where they need to be, and the budget adds up at the end of the month. You are good with people, whether that is a freelance editor you are briefing or a senior guest you are making feel at home.
You care about the finished thing. You have an eye for what makes a video good and the standards to push for it, without losing the plot on deadlines.
And you really know YouTube. Maybe you have grown a channel yourself, maybe you are just the person who cannot watch a video without working out why it landed or why it flopped. Either way, you follow the platform closely and you bring that instinct to everything we make.
