James Steel Productions is looking for an experienced Company Stage Manager to come on board for the workshop of an exciting new musical.

Salary (pro rata): £850/week

Hours: 6‐day working weeks

Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract – Full Time

Workshop Period: 27 July – 8 August 2026

Candidates should have professional experience in a Company Stage Management role and the ability to support the smooth running of a busy rehearsal and workshop process. Strong communication, organisational skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure are essential.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Run and support rehearsals throughout the workshop period
  • Create, distribute, and maintain rehearsal schedules and daily reports
  • Liaise with creatives, cast, and company members
  • Support the day‐to‐day running of the rehearsal room
  • Ensure clear communication across departments
  • Assist in maintaining a positive, collaborative, and efficient working environment

Skills Required:

  • Previous professional experience as a Company Stage Manager or similar role
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work proactively and collaboratively within a team
  • Calm, flexible, and solution‐oriented approach under pressure
  • Confidence managing rehearsal room logistics and company coordination
