Staff One are currently recruiting for an experienced Quality Engineer to join a well-established manufacturing business. This is an excellent opportunity for a quality professional with a strong automotive manufacturing background who is passionate about driving continuous improvement and implementing world-class quality systems within a fabrication and engineering environment.
The Role
As the Quality Engineer, you will play a key role in introducing and embedding automotive quality methodologies across manufacturing operations. You will work closely with production and engineering teams to improve process capability, product quality, operational performance, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and implement continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing processes.
- Introduce and embed APQP, PPAP, FMEA and Control Plan methodologies.
- Reduce internal defects, scrap and rework through robust quality processes.
- Improve manufacturing process capability and production consistency.
- Carry out root cause investigations and implement effective corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain quality KPIs, metrics and reporting dashboards.
- Support customer audits, supplier quality activities and quality reviews.
- Deliver training and coaching on automotive quality tools and best practices.
- Promote a culture of right-first-time manufacturing and continuous improvement.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Recent experience as a Quality Engineer within the automotive manufacturing sector.
- Experience within metal fabrication, engineering or precision manufacturing.
- Strong working knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA and Control Plans.
- A solid understanding of quality management systems and automotive core tools.
- The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with experience of root cause analysis and CAPA.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and support teams across the business.
